Yeah, I was surprised. I guess the usual VIR suspects aren't too keen on leaving their comfort zone?
Good for me...now if I can just get back in on the VIR roster.

I can't imagine we'll use the whole track at NCM. Any ideas? I'm thinkin' the west layout. Know anybody that's been there?

When did school start going there? Looks like some nice layouts for teaching and otherwise.

Pretty sure it's gonna be the west layout.
I think it's the school's first time there.
From what I hear from buddies (STT CRs) it's fast AND technical

<ahem> And COTA!
(Thanks for the heads-up!)

With my recent NYST visits, and the upcoming NCM and COTA visits, that's three new tracks on my already substantial list that had stagnated prior to visiting NJMP 4-5 years ago.:D

Back in '02, I followed the school, cornerworking, at every location east of the Mississippi. I did like three to four dozen individual days that year. :o
Hotels - $3000.
Tires - $2000.
Fuel - $1000.
Tracks - Literally priceless.

It's awesome, aint it?

Was just looking at my time off from work list for May... I'm surprised I'm still gainfully employed :D

2 days at VIR
1 day at Barber
1 day at Little Tally
2 days at NCM
5 days at Barber

...so far

I'll be home 4 days in the last half of May. A toy hauler is sounding like a good idea, but they're sooo pricey.

Truth!!! Hell, I'd be happy with a 24'+ enclosed with good AC that I can convert into a mini toy hauler! My 12 footer is proving to be a bit small :(

Actually looking for a 12'+ garage...and a generator. That is nice, tho'.

It's such a pain. You find something you like, only to find the holding tanks are inadequate, or the weight is excessive, or it has theater seating with the TV 90º off to the side...wtf?

I swear, I'm gonna have to have ATC build what I want...and then I'm not gonna wanna pay for it.

On-board generator seems nice, but every damn one of them transmits vibrations throughout the rig, even on $500k Class A's. Plus, you won't find a built-in inverter generator, so then you'll be bitching about the noise and fuel consumption, and carrying several hundred pounds of dead weight when you're going somewhere that you know has power. :fencing:

I don't trust paddock power anywhere, particularly, in a crowded paddock.
EU7000is, cheaper than an Onan 5500. Only other thing needed is the generator package - enclosure, wiring, fuel tank, etc. You know there are products that can diminish NVH, right?

Wow, what a difference a year makes...

We've been slackin' a bit. I just re-read this thread - good times!

In the interest of garnering interest at the family table, I'm adding to the meal.

Long stories short...
- Honda on stands...been that way all season. No one's fault but mine for not attending to it sooner.
- GSX-R750 is a great machine. Used to be a love/hate relationship 'til I realized it was always outside influences causing the negative incidences. It needs a little TLC currently (chain/sprockets) but deserves so much more.
- Still waiting to hit the dirt with y'all for a nice day of play. <hint-hint>
- And, finally...one of the toughest days I've ever had at the track, or anywhere for that matter. Trying out for a CSS coaching position, my brain stopped functioning when I needed it most. My ability to think clearly started to fall apart early-afternoon and progressively got worse. Getting a bit distraught about it wasn't helping, even as I attempted to find some Zen. It's pass or fail. If you fail, you'll never get the opportunity again. By the skin of my ass, I barely squeaked by...just waitin' on the final verdict later this month/next month.
How bad was it? Standing outside a restaurant at the end of the day, waiting on the arrival of the rest of the "crew", I attempted a head-count for the table we would need. I held up my thumb to start the count and couldn't articulate a single person's name. These are guys I ride with all_the_time!
May be an odd thing to say, but I feel so lucky having suffered it.

What's up with everyone else? Still kickin' it with enthusiasm?

Good stuff Fred. Congrats on passing that part of their test  What's next, their idea of you "working on your communication skills"?

I'm still working on getting back to dirt riding. I finished up the front end of my XR dinosaur the other day and went to take it for a quick ride. Turned on the petcock and had gas running out of both carbs :banghead: Didn't do that last time I had it running recently. WTF??? Well the carbs will be coming back off again. Still didn't order side panels yet.

Thought I had the CBR sold yet again this past Friday. I was talking with a guy from Manhattan for six days. We were all set up to meet in Danville at the notary about 2:00pm and the prick backed out on me that morning. I had everything set up, figured out, planned, was saving him time not driving all the way to my house even at one point offered to meet him in the Pocono's with it. His excuse was he bought a red/black chromed out bike nearby for $5000 last night. Fucker said he didn't want a red and black bike and supposedly appreciated what I had done to my bike. I texted back to him "Ok so you're looking for a chromed out street bike not a dialed in performance bike I guess. Thanks for wasting my time." No fucking wonder I never sell anything I have. It's easier to just keep it than deal with people. Anyway I'm listing it again and I'll see what happens.

Don't know. The door has been opened but I haven't been invited to step in, yet.

I'm more than thinking of doing the Line Mountain 7-miler, Sep 15. Four laps, I think. Gonna be rough-n-tough on MX suspension.

Decades ago, I sold my first four new purchase street bikes, let a few used ones go to friends and kept everything else. I'm kickin' myself for sellin' the first street bike...'86 GSX-R750. Today, I don't know what I could get rid of and not kick myself tomorrow.

Anyone else get caught off guard by this past round of snow/sleet/rain?

Had fun trying to push that heavy shit off the tarmac but it was not as bad as the one time when I didn't attend to it in a timely manner. 2-3" of ice was not good when I needed heating oil. They took one look at the driveway and said, "Nope". :D
