Post Gloves?
So I've been wearing my faithful Teknic Violator gloves for many years now but I think it's time to replace them with something newer.

I did like the A* GP Plus's - they really look like they have extra padding in all the places my hand hurt after a crash, and the webbed ring-pinkie finger thing seems like a great idea.. I'm just a little concerned if they ventilate enough?

I'll step up to the GP Pro if needed, but wouldn't mind saving the $50..

Thoughts?

I haven't found a glove maker that fits my hands as well as Teknic. I had a set of Joe Rocket's that were close. Those blew apart during a crash like a gerbil coming out of eskimo's arse.

I like A*, but they are a bit overpriced because of their name and popularity. They also run a bit small.

I bought the new xcelerator's. They are not cheap. We are talking held priceline! The new violator's are a little cheaper and appear to have most of the security features minus the roo leather.

sportbiketrackgear.com also has a set of black closeout violators in XXXL. Too big for me, I take XXL.

I agree about the running a bit small. My GP Pro's are larges and have always been a bit snug. When I bought my 365 Gore-Tex gloves last year I ordered XL and they're better but none too big either.

Post Re: Gloves?
My friend loves everything Alpinestars. Thinks they can do no wrong. He used to sew his gloves back together, even though he never crashed in them.

Meanwhile, he always laughed at my Helds. "They just look so plain," he'd say. They don't have vents in the knuckles. I would just tell him it's funny, but my Helds have been down time and time again (I can't fucking ride to save my life) and yet I still don't know how to sew.

These are my second pair of Helds. The picture is pretty recent. I still street ride in them. I think they are seven years old, had multiple crashes and have no holes.

Interesting sidenote, I am considering Heroic gloves for my next pair of gloves. My Alpinestar-loving friend has a pair of Heroics. We went riding yesterday and he said to me that even though his Alpinestars and Heroics are both new, he's probably gonna just start wearing the Heroics, because they're way more comfortable.

you pay a large entrance fee for helds, but you can get that money back when you go to 2 or three of everything else.

Heroics are super comfy with that liner. I talked to the founder/owner. He takes pride in his product. A buddy of mine has a set that is falling apart pretty badly after a crash. The responsible thing for him to do is to contact the company and get them repaired rather than bash the company. But, for that price, I expected more. I don't know the circumstances and perhaps any glove would've fell apart during that crash.

Just some of my experience.

dude, check these out! http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4596

depending on your size, $49 for roo palm gloves. If I remember correctly, they scored highly in sportrider glove comparo. I'd be all over these if didn't just waist $171 on a pair of gloves that take me 10 minutes to install (put on is not appropriate for how long they take)!

That's a smokin deal, but they don't have any in my size (large).. Thanks for the heads up!

I ended up getting a smokin deal on a set of GP Pro's and rode with them last week.. holy crap... it's been a while since I broke in new gloves!

Stalled the bike 2 times, and really couldn't make a good grip around the bars - the size is a great fit, but they need some serious breaking in before they fit.. well, like a glove. I wonder if they're a size too small, as they're pretty damn hard to get off.

Mine finally started to feel good after riding with them all season. Good luck with that. I always took along my old set just in case.

I always soak my new gloves in water and then wear them while street riding if they are kinda snug. Then they stretch easily in all the right places.
