Post Beta Factory Demo Tour
So I had heard about this Beta Motorcycle Demo Tour last year but saw nothing on their schedule even remotely close to home so I wrote it off. I got a call from Ryan Betz at RyanCo Cycle Works (whom some of you know) to tell me that the tour was coming to Irish Valley MX Park. It was an added date and location that he might actually be responsible for because when the Beta USA owner called Ryan a few years ago during the planning of this tour Ryan suggested this location. I couldn't believe it was coming there. I can literally take back roads from my house and be there in less than 20 minutes. Well the day was yesterday and it was off the hook fun. I haven't ridden dirt bikes much in quite a long time and I know it today! I rode 10 of the 17 bikes they had available, the 390 I'm looking at for myself twice. It was a neat little course they set up but was stupid muddy with all the recent rain and 125 riders who showed up to tear up the terrain. I rode in the afternoon and by the last hour or so I could literally pull in, hop off the bike and right onto another. The new 200RR was pretty coveted so the line for that model stayed long. I didn't wait for that one. I only crashed twice, should have crashed about a dozen times. Both of my crashes were in the same damn place on the course :banghead: I went out early to the park to have time to look around and chat. Saw some totally unexpected friends that I haven't seen in many years. Of course at the end the beers came out and we had more fun. Ryan, his family and I were the last ones to leave the park. What a crazy good day!
