Post Maybe riding to NJMP Sunday 5/8?
I know, Mother's Day.. But, I need to talk to RJ from Hazardous about my suit (and show it to him), so I was thinking of riding down. Nicole's going to be leaving early that morning too, so I'd be game for an early departure. I just threw this on google maps, no idea if anything will be good riding or not..

Cool! Shoot me your mobile # in a PM and I'll text you before we leave 81 in Pine Grove? (We usually make a stop there for a piss)

Unfortunately the gopro stopped before the Crack heads trying to run into the street with a watermelon could be captured on camera.

That was some WEIRD shit. GPS's really need an "avoid ghetto" option... but then there'd be no way to get to NJMP.

Good to meet & ride with ya, sorry the route only had a few good curves! (and that one decreasing radius right that I should have been looking further through!) (No, I didn't cross lanes, but it wasn't pretty)

That was a lot of riding yesterday (371 miles in all, and the Tuono clicked the 30,000 mile mark last night), and the sun staying up longer is REALLY screwing with my sense of time.

TL;DR - Made it from the T-bolt pits NJMP to my garage (193 miles) in 2 hours, 57 minutes including 18 minutes of pit stops and NJ/Philly traffic. Lot of work to beat Google by a half hour. (Without traffic, they say I should average 56mph!)

I didn't leave the pits until 5:39, which the GPS said was going to give me a 10:30 arrival at home (avoid highways route chosen) - with a smoked visor, and the temps falling. Fack.
Leaving the Wawa on 322, my desire to get home ASAP won over everything else, so a route change was made at 6:28pm, after taking the back roads to get there. "Avoid Highways" was un-selected - new ETA: 9:45. Challenge accepted. :D
At 7:48pm, I pulled into the Wawa off the turnpike for a tank top-up and piss, & a quick snack. 40 minutes after leaving there, I pulled into the garage at 8:36, and it was pretty damned dark for the last 15-20 minutes.

Today, I learned that:
-It really isn't meaningfully warmer at 65 than it is 25-30mph faster. Controlling air drafts down the back of your neck makes MUCH more of a difference than speed.
-A shitbox Scion iA can do 100mph, albeit at full throttle (the smell of the exhaust is telltale). Nice guy driving it. (We chatted a bit at the Wawa) He rides a Hardley, and must have never seen a motorcycle exceed 20 degrees of lean. (I'll admit - the winding, uphill part of 476 was *almost* enjoyable with light traffic)
-Having my cellphone on a RAM mount in front of me, running Waze, is as awesome for touring as I hoped it would be. Need to step it up with some music via bluetooth or something.
-I still lack the maturity to ride slowly all the time and 'enjoy the scenery'.
-Being stationary REALLY kills your average speed.
-It's hard as hell to average over 65mph - I no longer wonder why takes me ~4 hours to get home when towing.
-Google's "location timeline" is remarkably accurate.
