Yea red rider,
This is the fz8ster,

Negatory on the cost of this mow-chine.
You might say I went right up to ebay and picked it up,
It's cheaper that way.

... and these are the thoughts in my head everytime I read this post.

I am jealous tho, I also wish I had the time to do such a project.

 I got the right spacer for the rear wheel today and all is good. not much else to sort out now besides a motor.

some progress

Made a bracket for the gauge, acquired a fuel pump and radiator and fan with all the hoses.

Ordered REV2 Pro motion throttle tube kit, right and left hand controls, clutch perch and CRG lever.

Stripped the lettering and rim tape off the rear wheel and determined that front has a slight wobble so it will be sent off to wheel collision in Allentown for repair soon.

Thanks its coming together slowly here now while I try and source a motor, I might be taking a road trip next week while I am off work to go look at a few in person.

Got all my hand controls and clutch lever and switch, and engine mount bolts.

well as exciting as it was buying all this shit, I have sold most of it off this week but the frame now. This project is dead , I'm just going to ride the FZ8 next year for track season and work on saving for an 08 r6.

Why are engagement rings so expensive? :banghead:

They're only as expensive as she is shallow. Tell her that and you'll end up with a $50 ring and a track bike!

Don't knock a '06/07 R6 at all. if Shep can ride one into the 26's at NJMP, it's not that big of a deal. Most of the parts are interchangeable.

Dude don't kill the project. Just follow the "Four Year Track Bike Build Program", right Zach? :poke:

Congrats (I hope) on the ring buying experience. It happens to the best of us.

Shes not shallow she does a lot for me, stayed with me when I didnt have a dollar to my name so I cant really complain to much.

The only reason i mentioned the0 08 was there seem to be more around 3500 to 4gs in the area than the older years.

The idea of the project track bike isnt killed, just the gsxr is killed. Lucky for me I have sold everything for near 80% more than what I paid for it so I am in the green.

Im stoked to get her a ring no doubt, just coming at a less than perfect time but next project will at least be running when I buy it.

the 06-07's tend to sell for slightly less, and they're just as much bike.
