TPM has FUSA on the schedule three days next year plus more dates on the east course

Any news of other clubs going there next season?

Don't believe everything you see.. This is Glen we're talking about. He posted his NYST dates and didn't even ask Greg from NYST!

I hope at least one date happens, for the riders' sake. No one seems to be able to break even at Pocono. It's $20k+, and the turnout is low. Too bad, I'm nostalgic about it.

Good point.

I was hoping to hear that Pocono people came to their senses and were negotiating with the clubs again. Seems like everyone is loosing out on not riding there anymore, including the Pocono owners.

Not to mention it's right up the road ;)

BTW, I still wouldn't ride with Glen's TPM again if they gave me free dates at Pocono. I'm hoping for someone else to schedule there.

Thinking of doing at least 1 Pocono day this year and looks like TPM is the only org that has dates there that I can find. From riding with Evolve and N2 last year they are both great orgs. Why is TPM so bad, bad experience, not treated right?

My short story, Glen is an ass. I thought that in ‘98 or ‘99, whatever, during TPM’s first year and my first track day. I rode with REDUC for about three years after that then to NESBA for a few more. I gave TPM another try years later because I knew so many guys riding with them. I rode with them for awhile but my opinion of him has been nothing other than he’s an ass.

Just my opinion anyway.

Anyone going 'out of network' to do pocono FUSA next weekend?

Small group of us waiting on a weather forecast, since they won't be refunded as we are all in Evolve.

What I meant is if it's a rain day, I couldn't cancel hassle free like at EGT.

...but the weather looks good so I just signed up for Saturday.

Good luck to you. I saw a boat load of comments online from people interested in riding there. Everyone from stretched bikes to Hardley’s wanting to go. Hopefully I’m wrong but it looks like it could have the makings of a real clusterfuck.

They are having a charity parade lap at lunch. Hopefully that's their intention.

Ah I see. I didn’t read anything about a parade lap.

However, I’ve never been a fan of parade laps at track day. They should only have them after the last session is over.

I'm hoping they do, but a lap of the circuit, not the tri-oval the Harleys will ride which is hosted by someone else I believe. Tpm said they would try to accomade, so I put the kids street tires on in hope of a lap or two.

Apparently it happened, though on Sunday, there were a total of 3 people on the entire track, and Glen pulled the plug at 3pm. Sal said the weekend wasn't run like the TPM of old.. Which makes sense, since everyone that made TPM great has left.

On track it appeared the coaches were just there to ride, not really assist. I struggled all day in intermediate, however I also didn't ask for help. Most of my morning was spent trying to break in new boots and a new suit that is truly a race fit. (Session 1 I couldn't even downshift properly) Once I started to sweat in it, it softened up, and was much better.

I was disappointed they ran the old hairpin version. My favorite part of the track was the technical section after the back straight.

Anyways, back to evolve now for the rest of the season. Can't wait for the upcoming NJMP.

Yes sir. As of now 4 out of 5 of us are going, not sure how many wives/dogs etc.

Do you know if MMM (Metric Mikes Minion) will be there selling tires? Excited to try out slicks and see what all the hub-bub is about. :)

I'm sure there will be Pirelli's for sale. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but the slick and the SuperCorsa SC behave basically the same. There's been times I've had one of each on the bike on a race weekend because of logistics.

That said, there IS something great about the SC-series. :apex:

Quick question: sc1 or sc2. I see on the pirelli chart sc2 can handle colder temps, but I have DRC'S for that, so I was thinking sc1.

Or is it wiser to think about better durability of the 2 over 1?

You choose the tire based on your pace and the temperature. Durability is what it is. New tires are way cheaper than crash repairs. What's your (consistent) pace these days?

I don't have a lap timer, so I really don't know. All I can tell you is I usually let all the fast guys go first (usually all on slicks) then there's usually several of us on 50/50s waiting at the back, and we head out 2nd, of which on a god day im maybe mid pack of the slow group. There's always at least a few in E3 I can manage to pass tho. I think it was England or matt who told me they thought my pace was about 38 at jerzey, but that's extremely unofficial.

I'd probably suggest SC2 except on a really hot day.
